Enforce structure and consistency in Agent responses
One of the ongoing challenges in scaling agents across enterprise systems is ensuring output consistency. Without structured responses, teams often build secondary layers to clean, parse, and reformat data before it can flow into downstream systems, driving up cost, increasing latency, and introducing unnecessary points of failure.
Structured Output solves this by allowing users to define schemas, such as JSON or Pydantic models. Every enterprise has unique processes, systems, and data sources that off-the-shelf tools can’t capture. SeekrFlow Agents address this gap with Custom Tools, enabling users to embed their own logic directly into the agent runtime.
Custom Tools are developer-defined Python functions that agents can call just like built-in capabilities such as Web Search or File Search. This allows agents to connect with internal APIs, integrate with systems like Slack or Outlook, transform proprietary data, or run advanced analytics entirely within the SeekrFlow environment. Developers can also use Custom Tools to leverage traditional machine-learning models such as classification, regression, and forecasting algorithms alongside generative capabilities, enabling agents to reason over and act on predictive insights. Agents dynamically decide when to invoke these tools based on context and instructions, automatically mapping inputs to parameters and returning results in a seamless flow.
This release significantly strengthens the Custom Tools experience with Docstring Validation for custom functions. A docstring, the documentation within a Python function, describes its purpose, parameters, and return values. By enforcing validation upfront, SeekrFlow removes the confusion of maintaining dual descriptions, improves the accuracy of function calls, and enhances parameter-mapping performance. The result is fewer runtime errors, more predictable invocations, and a smoother developer experience when designing and executing Custom Tools.
